A portrait of Marian's Jazz Room

I've been a few times to Marian's Jazz Room in Bern. The place is awsome. Let's start from the beginning.... yes, it's rather easy to find if you follow the instructions on the site. Yes, there are parking spots available. Yes, the fact that you have to go down some stairs makes you already feel you'll dig into jazz. Yes, people working there are really friendly. The room is small, chairs are comfortable, drinks excellent.

Music !!!

The programm is awsome. I'm a vocalists fan so I took a close look at the people who already sang there :

Abbey Lincoln, Jon Hendricks, Sandy Patton, Dianne Reeves, Ernestine Anderson, Lillian Boutté, Ernie Andrews, Freddy Cole to name a few ! But of course, Marian's not just for vocalist. I'm sure you'd recognise a few of those names too : Clark Terry, Benny Carter, Joe Henderson, Didier Lockwood, Milt Jackson, Lionel Hampton, Jimmy McGriff, Rhoda Scott, Tommy Flanagan, Monty Alexander....

Why am I telling you this ? I guess it's because I'm still tired after the great evening I spent yesterday :-)
